AC Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok Keeps Freezing & Crashing for Players

The Dawn of Ragnarok DLC for AC Valhalla promised to put players in Odin’s shoes to explore Ubisoft’s take on the prophesied apocalypse of Asgard and rescue his son, Baldr, from the clutches of the fire giant, Surtr.

Naturally, fans were excited to dive into all the exciting content that this beefy expansion of roughly 15GB had in store for them. But as it goes with the arrival of most substantial DLCs, Dawn of Ragnarok, too, introduced a handful of major inconveniences to Valhalla.

As revealed by enthusiasts on Reddit and Ubisoft’s support page, Dawn of Ragnarok DLC keeps crashing and freezing randomly across all platforms of AC Valhalla. Moreover, players also reported a few instances where a glitch made foes unbeatable, while others spoke of bugs that didn’t allow the game to be saved.

The near-crumbling state of Valhalla’s Dawn of Ragnarok is the embodiment of how rushed the entire process of modern game development really is! The rigidity of developers to follow a fixed schedule and release titles without rigorous testing does more harm than good.

Hastily launching a game where problems find refuge and then releasing a day one patch to resolve them sounds somewhat hectic. It will be a better approach to delay the title or its post-launch content for a few weeks or even months if it hasn’t passed the set standard of evaluation and testing.

Not only will fans get to dig into an experience that’s as smooth as silk, the devs, too, will be able to see their reputation spiral this way.

With that being said, it would be no shock to see Ubisoft quickly sort out the freezing and crashing glitches that have been tormenting players. While the studio has not provided us with any release date for the patches, we expect them to roll out soon, given the extent of the problem.
