Assassin’s Creed Valhalla developers have confirmed that the game is set to receive its next post-launch content after the Yule Festival. Titled River Raids, the new update will add a collection of new exciting missions to the game.
In December, Ubisoft offered AC Valhalla’s first post-launch content in the form of the Yule Festival. Lasting a good three weeks, the Yule Festival added a series of new minigames and quests to the game. Moreover, players were able to get their hands on some sweet, exclusive rewards!
Seeing the Yule Festival’s success, expectations are high for the upcoming River Raid update. Here is what we know about Valhalla’s next, significant expansion so far:
1. Release Date
As revealed by Ubisoft in its blog, players can expect AC Valhalla’s River Raid update to be out in February 2021. We don’t know the exact date as of yet.
Given that the Yule Festival rolled out in the middle of December, one can expect River Raid to be released around 15 February.
2. What to Expect from River Raid Update?
i. New Map
The title itself is self-explanatory. Enthusiasts will be able to raid a lot more places while playing River Raid in AC Valhalla. Ubisoft confirmed that “not one, not two, but THREE new (and replayable!) maps” will be added to the game.
These new locations will house “new Gear, Silver, Runes, Books of Knowledge, and much more.”
ii. Increase your treasury
Silver, Raw Materials, and Supplies are of utmost importance in AC Valhalla if you are to advance further. The River Raid update is an opportunity you should seize to expand your resources.
iii. New Skills and Abilities
The upcoming River Raid update will help you make Eivor more superior by adding new skills and abilities to diversify your playing style. Given that Ubisoft has been rather close-mouthed about River Raid’s details, we do not know an awful lot about skills and abilities.
3. What Are the Requirements?
Players will have to build “the new Jomsviking Hall building in their expanded settlement” to recruit Jomsviking, who will accompany Eivor to raid new places.
