Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has tons of mysteries and challenges spread throughout the game’s vast map that keeps players on their toes. These challenges are always helpful if you’re willing to improve your skills in the game. One such challenge is the Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran, which involves training to improve all three Bear, Raven, and Wolf-based skills in the game.
Starting right after A Challenge From the Gods mission, the Cryptic Tutelage is a quest that requires Eivor to collect trophies from previous challenges and to submit them to Hildiran. Although it might seem like a cakewalk, scoring points and earning trophies are harder than they look. So, here are a few tips and tricks that might make things easier for you.
The Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran Quest Location
The Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran quest is located in Ravensthorpe. The mission starts immediately after the previous A Challenge From the Gods mission. So, you don’t have to worry about traveling to the mission location since Hildiran will herself start talking about the new mission after completing the old one.
How to Beat the Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran Mission in AC Valhalla?
To beat the Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran mission in AC Valhalla; players first need to talk to Hildiran in Ravensthorpe and start stage 1 of the quest. Then they need to collect 9 Bronze and 4 Silver medals to go to stage 2.
In stage 2, they need to compete in challenges yet again to collect 15 bronze medals and 8 Silver medals. Submitting all the medals to Hildiran will complete this mission, and players will collect the ancient artifact.
These medal rewarding challenges are spread throughout four main locations: Odin Mine Hideout, Loligestone Bandit Camp, Templebrough Fort, Stanica Calleva. Each location will have three different challenges ranging from Bear, Raven, and Wolf Mastery Challenges.
The Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran Quest Stage 1
In the first stage of the Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran, players need to collect 9 Bronze and 4 Silver medals to get to the 2nd stage. The two areas consisting of the challenges are the Odin Mine Hideout and the Loligestone Bandit Camp. Each of these areas has one Bear Mastery Challenge, one Wolf Mastery Challenge, and one Raven Mastery challenge.
- Bear Mastery Challenge – Tests the brute strength of players and involves a hand-to-hand combat-oriented fight.
- Wolf Mastery Challenge – Tests players’ shooting skills by giving a bow and arrows oriented mission to eliminate enemies.
- Raven Mastery Challenge – Test players’ assassination skills by giving a stealth-oriented mission where players must remain anonymous and sneak kill their way to victory.
Once you’ve collected enough medals, you can go and talk to Hildiran and initiate Stage 2 of the quest.
The Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran Quest Stage 2
The second stage of the Cryptic Tutelage of Hildiran is similar to the first one. But, this time, you need 15 Bronze and 8 Silver medals. The areas unlocked in the 2nd stage are the Templebrough Fort and the Stanica Calleva.
Similar to Stage 1, Stage 2 areas also have three Mastery challenges each. Completing each of the Bear, Wolf, and Raven Mastery challenges will award players with more medals to hand over to Hildiran to complete the quest.
After Hildiran is satisfied with all the medals, she will take you to a secret cave, and you’ll be able to collect the ancient Odin’s Eye artifact. But Hildiran will eventually take the artifact from you to find the location to Odin’s Vault.
With this mission complete, you can finally move on to the other missions and complete Eivor’s main mission story. Just don’t forget to take a few breathers if the fights get too intense!
