AC Valhalla: Well of Urdr Wealth Guide

If you are playing the ‘Well Traveled’ quest in AC: Valhalla or just reading up on Norse mythology, chances are you have heard of the Well of Urdr.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla not only ramps up the RPG-esque elements, but it also does a fantastic job of including Norse mythology with the gameplay. One such instance we see in the Asgard part of the storyline is the sealed Well of Urdr.

1. How to Unseal the Well of Urdr?

During the Asgard arc, you will be playing as Havi and tasked with sourcing some water from the Well of Urdr. Now, this is not any turn off the mill well but is a mythical piece of enchantment. The well of Urdr is believed to link different worlds and has remained a mystery for many generations.

To reach the location is easy enough since you just follow the marker, but the well itself is sealed to outsiders. Unlocking the well requires you to solve a unique light puzzle! This is one of the most aesthetic puzzles I found in AC: Valhalla as the blue light rays play so well with the well’s shimmering water.

To unseal the Well the Urdr in AC: Valhalla, fix the first light beam at the cave entrance to get access to the central puzzle. The rest of the puzzle requires you to split the main light beam and direct it at the correct light posts.

The puzzle is not one of the hardest ones in the game; it’s just that it’s hard to miss the light post positions in a dark cave. Most of the time, doing this puzzle was lost, finding my way in the dark! The next sequence involves you to collect some water and dive into the well! Apparently, the only way out is down. That’s what I did, and I missed all of the hidden treasures of the cave!

2. Well of Urdr Hidden Treasures: Tears of Ymir Location

There are three hidden loot chests in the Well of Urdr, and chances are you would have missed at least two of them since they are very hard to find unless you snoop around a bit. Two of the Ymir’s tear stones are hidden inside the cave, while the last one is found on your way out of Well of Urdr.

The First Tear Stone

The first tear stone is located just near the entrance. After you enter:

  1. Take a deep dive into the water.
  2. Start swimming west, and you will find a room with some stuff and a chest.
  3. Loot the chest to get your treasure.

ii. Treasure #2

The Second Yimir’s stone

Soon after you enter the cave, after solving the first light post, climb up on the cliff to your right. You will now see a chest containing the second Yimir’s stone.

iii. Treasure #3

The Last Teasure

The third and the last treasure is not technically inside the well of Urdr but found on your way out. When you encounter the wolf pup and the sequence finishes, take a dive into the well to find your way out. On reaching the larger water body with those vast pillars, you’ll find the chest in the center. This one is hard to miss.
