Ubisoft has begun deploying Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Mastery Challenge Update, i.e., Title Update 1.2.2, and it is coming with a whole lot of new content for players to enjoy.
The highlights of this new content include a River Raids Refresh, a new set of skills, and a range of improvements to the Wrath of the Druids expansion. The Mastery Challenge game mode was announced only a few days ago, promising a new way for players to prove their might.
The new mode will see Eivor challenged by a “Master of an ancient art” who will send them on a quest that will comprise three reality-bending trials. First will be the Trial of the Bear, which will test Eivor’s strength in combat.
The Trial of the Wolf will follow to test Eivor’s marksmanship abilities. Finally, the Trial of the Raven will challenge Eivor’s skills in stealth.
In addition to these trials, the update will also bring a refresher for River Raids. The improvements to River Raids will come in the form of increased rewards for rivers that boast higher levels of alert and balancing in the attack power of Jomsvikings to match their rank. Additionally, Vagn’s Store will have Wayland’s armor in stock, which users can purchase with Foreign supplies.
Title Update 1.2.2 will also bring three new abilities for players to try their hand at called Mounted Archer, Shield Master, and Unstoppable.
Mounted Archer will allow Eivor to fire their bow while mounted. Shield Master will allow Eivor to automatically rotate to block incoming attacks with their shield, and Unstoppable will make Eivor’s sprint unblockable in combat. However, it’s important to note that Eivor’s unblockable sprint comes at the cost of stamina.
Ubisoft’s content support for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been pretty stellar so far. After the arrival of Wrath of the Druids – the game’s first DLC, all eyes are on The Siege of Paris, which is set to arrive sometime this summer.
The DLC will take the Vikings to Francia (erstwhile France), and the overthrowing of its tyrannical government will be involved.
