Fortnite Creative 2.0 is the newest iteration of Fornite’s Creative Mode, which allows players to show their creativity by making custom maps and modes. The maps are built within an editor of Unreal Engine, and they’re shared online through codes.
Creative 2.0 really gives players the freedom to create any map they want. They were quick to show their creative skills by creating Horror Maps, maps featuring locations from iconic video games like Call of Duty, and various other amazing maps like them. But it’s not all fun and games with Creative 2.0, it seems.
Recreations of fan-favorite Call of Duty maps in Creative 2.0 have been delisted due to DMCA takedowns by Activision. Online creator Jake Lucky shared this news online about these takedowns with a clip featuring gameplay from maps created by a user named Mist Jawa.
Epic previously warned players about its intellectual property guidelines in Creative 2.0, which can result in creators facing consequences. The maps shown in the clip include recreations of the Call of Duty maps Rust and Shipment.
Mist Jawa released a statement on Twitter stating that they would no longer recreate copyrighted maps and that their previously created maps have been removed. In addition to that, they also removed all their tweets and YouTube videos featuring those maps.
Level editors like Fortnite Creative 2.0, Far Cry level editors, have not only added more content to the game, but also helped keep the community alive and active. The level editor also allows players to not only show their creativity, but also helps them bring in maps that are not available in the game.
Creative 2.0 is just a few weeks old, but considering how many custom maps are already in the game, we’ll surely be seeing more creative things from the community.
