Three AMD Radeon RX 6000M Series Chips with RDNA 2 Revealed

Nvidia and AMD keep hitting one another with innovations. This time it seems that the latter is set to take on Nvidia by finally introducing the much-awaited Radeon RX 6000M Mobile GPUs series based on the RDNA 2 architecture at Computex 2021.

AMD released a total of three chips under the series: the Radeon RX 6800M, the RX 6700M, and the RX 6600M. RX 6800M is the flagship chip that has been created to deliver the fastest AMD graphics for laptops yet.

Gems of the gaming sphere like Battlefield V, F1 2020, Overwatch, and Apex Legends can easily run at 120fps on 1440p resolution if 6800M is handling them.

The second chip unveiled by AMD was the RX 6700M. It comes with 36 compute units, 10GB of GDDR6, a 160-bit bus, and 80MB infinity cache. RX 6700M will offer 100fps at 1440p while running AAA games.

The last chipset to be uncovered by AMD at Computex 2021 was the RX 6600M. It will offer 28 compute units and ray accelerators, 8GB of GDDR6, a 128-bit bus, and 32MB infinity cache. Radeon RX 6600M can easily handle a resolution of 1080p and offer 100fps.

These powerful cards will also be a part of AMD’s new program, the AMD Advantage Design Framework. This is a partnership similar to Intel Evo and NVIDIA Studio and is designed to set the standard premium gaming laptop experience.

The keynote also announced the launch of the cross-platform FidelityFX Super Resolution technology for games, AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS.

Moreover, the fact that these chipsets are featuring RDNA 2 architecture adds immeasurable value to them. Current gen consoles, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, the Radeon RX 6000 series are all powered by RDNA 2.

With the RX 6000M Series being based on RDNA 2, they will support DirectX Ray Tracing and Smart Access Memory.

The 6000M series will be ready to hit the shelves on June 1st.
