AMD confirms Ryzen 7000 is launching this quarter, Radeon 7000 launches later this year

AMD has been growing rapidly in the last few years, especially since its success with Radeon 6000 and Ryzen 6000 series. The growth can be seen in AMD’s quarterly revenue, which the company revealed during its Q2 Earnings call. But there was something else during the earnings call that stole the spotlight.

AMD CEO Lisa Su announced that the company’s 5nm Ryzen 7000 processors, the first Zen 4 models to come to market, will arrive later this quarter. This gives us a better idea of the launch as previously, AMD stated the launch during fall 2022.

According to this, we might see AMD’s next-gen chips arriving on store shelves by September. This reaffirms a previous leak that stated the processors would launch on September 15.

“Looking ahead, we’re on track to launch our all-new 5nm Ryzen 7000 desktop processors and AM5 platforms later this quarter with leadership performance in gaming and content creation,”

Lisa Su, CEO of AMD

Along with the chips, the brand new 600-series chipsets such as the X670E & X670 should also arrive in September. AMD is set to unveil more details on X670E motherboard designs from their partners this week, so we might get to see more details about these chipsets.

Well, if you were hoping to get info on the Radeon 7000 GPUs as well, then don’t worry, AMD covered that too. AMD also reaffirmed that the company would launch its “High-End” RDNA 3 NAVI GPUs later this year.

While we expect the gaming graphics market to be down in the third quarter, we remain focused on executing our GPU roadmap, including launching our high-end RDNA three GPUs later this year.

This is similar to the Zen 3 and RDNA 2 launch, which were launched just months apart. The official launch would take place either in October or November, but It looks like we may get a teaser of the RDNA 3 Radeon RX 7000 GPUs during the Ryzen 7000 launch.

NVIDIA would have already released its Ada Lovelace-based RTX 4090 by then, so if AMD is focusing on the high-end first, then they better produce a performance beast as they don’t want to lose the flagship battle against NVIDIA.

AMD will also be looking to build on its CPU success over Intel, as the Ryzen 7000 series processors will take on Intel’s 13th gen Raptor Lake Core CPUs this year.
