AMD Ryzen 9 7950X Scores 39K in Leaked Cinebench R23 test, Better Than Intel i9-13900K

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series is less than a month away, and we are still receiving benchmark leaks for the SKUs. As always, all eyes will be on the flagship Ryzen 9 7950X, which has impressed so far but still falls short of Intel i9-13900K, Intel’s flagship competing against it.

A few days ago, we got leaked Geekbench scores for two of the SKUs, Ryzen 7950X and Ryzen 7600X, both of which were outmuscled by Intel’s corresponding competing SKUs. However, it seems today that we have some numbers in AMD’s favor.

Zen 4 flagship AMD Ryzen 9 7900X has been spotted with a multi-core score of 38984 points on the Cinebench R23 benchmark, giving it a 9.2% advantage over Intel’s 13th gen Raptor Lake flagship i9-13900K.

The CPU tested was actually an engineering sample. There were other tests scoring in the range of 36/37k as well. However, this test, in particular, used efficient All-in-One liquid cooling solutions. The AMD Ryzen 9 7950X was running at its stock configuration on an X670E motherboard.

Comparing it to the Ryzen 9 5950X, the Ryzen 9 7950X blazes ahead with 61% better multi-threaded uplift. It also crushes the Core i9-12900K with an impressive 42% performance uplift.

Intel Core i9-13900K loses against AMD’s flagship by 9.2%, but this is when using limited power(250W). We have already seen Intel soar past the 40k part with unlimited power setting(350W), a 3% better performance than Ryzen 9 7950X.

All in all, Intel is able to give out better maximum output, but AMD takes the win on better power efficiency. Unfortunately, there were no single-core test scores revealed, so we’ll have to wait for those.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X is a 16-core and 32-thread Zen 4 CPU with a boost clock up to 5.7 GHz. The CPU has a default TDP of 170W and is set to launch on September 27th, along with three other SKUs and high-end X670 motherboards.
