Apex Legends Will Be Coming to Steam This November!

Now that Electronic Arts has successfully transitioned to Steam, more and more of their games are making their home on the platform, and now, Apex Legends, with the start of Season 7, will be making its way to Steam as well!

Now, despite what anyone thinks of the game nowadays, I still think that Apex Legends is a fantastic game.

Even though the battle-royale genre of video games got stale and saturated pretty quickly, and by the time this game came around, Fortnite and PUBG were already the ruling titles; it still made a mark quite successfully in the players’ hearts.

Not to mention, Apex Legends feels almost like a child of the Titanfall series, the games that are adored by many but sadly, played by almost none.

I still think that the fluency of movement and gameplay-innovations that these games brought are still unmatched by anything else, especially in the case of Titanfall 2, whose single-player campaign felt like a breath of fresh air amidst the downward spiraling campaign quality of other FPS titles.

Regardless, let us not contemplate any further upon the treatment the Titanfall franchise received and get back to the topic at hand.

So, the Steam version of Apex Legends will support crossplay, as well as cross-progression, meaning that if you’re someone who was previously playing on Origin or a console, you can now easily transition to Steam should you wish to do so.

The players are also given appropriate enough incentives to actually make the switch, given how that will let players grab the exclusive Steam-edition gun charms in the game, inspired by the Portal and Half-life franchises. Also, I’m going to be honest; Wattson holding a companion cube is something I never thought I needed.

Coming to season 7, which will kick off at the same time as the game’s arrival on Steam, not much has been revealed yet, but Respawn did tease us with a new character that may be coming to the game soon!

They’ve been feeding snippets of the character through the champions edition trailer and, more recently, through a Tweet.

Anyhow, right now, the game is in the midst of its Fight or Fright Event, but I certainly cannot wait to see what the upcoming season has in store for us and how receptive the Steam’s community is going to be towards the game when it lands on the platform on November 4th!

About Apex Legends

Apex Legends is a free-to-play FPS battle-royale game developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts. Upto 20 three-person squads or 30 two-person duos land on an island, scavenge for weapons and supplies and attempt to kill the other players until they are the only team left.

The game features excellent combat and movement mechanics and is generally regarded as one of the more competent battle-royale games out there. Players can choose one amongst the many pre-prepared character models, each of which has it own playstyle and unique move-set.

The game was released on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on February 4, 2019. A Nintendo Switch version released in March 2021. Android and iOS ports are planned for 2022.
