Assassin’s Creed New Game Is Set in the… Shrek Universe?!

Leaks in the gaming world are quite the double-edged sword.

On one hand, they provide news related to upcoming titles, consoles, updates and others that generates excitement and anticipation among people.

But on the other hand, many of these leaks prove to be false, that often shatters all the excitement that was previously built up, leading to a ton of disappointment.

So, it is natural that any leaks that arrive on the internet’s doorstep should be taken lightly.

Not to mention, it’s 2020. So, anything and everything has dialed up straight to 11 in terms of ridiculousness!

And the worst is, even the leaks aren’t safe from this, proven by the recent leak of an Assassin’s Creed title set to arrive in 2021!

And if you’re still wondering how idiotic a leak can get, wait till you hear more about this one!

So, what exactly was the leak?

A few days ago, an anonymous user on 4Chan shared a screenshot for the supposed next title in the Assassin’s Creed franchise after Valhalla, set to release in 2021.

According to the user, the game will be set in France once more, during the period of the Black Plague.

It will also feature cross-gen support, meaning people would be able to play on both the next-generation consoles and well as on the current generation ones.

Of course, the excited a lot of fans of the series, but in the end, many people realized that something was not right with the leaks.

It was eventually discovered that the leaks were fake, and the screenshot belonged to, wait for it, Shrek of all things!

Fans of the Shrek series of movies were quick on the uptake, realizing that the people on 4Chan were being trolled big time!

As one would expect, this left many fans feeling irritated and disappointed, mainly due to the false rumors that the leak was spreading.

But an important thing to remember from now on is never to put your complete faith and trust in leaks regarding anything and wait for the actual developers and companies to come up with an announcement.

The very idea is grounded in absurdity, but to think that it was executed, and was able to fool the video game franchise’s poor fans!

Regardless, even I won’t deny that this leak’s sheer idiocy left me with a good and hearty laugh!
