Despite the presence of light swords in recent Assassin’s Creed titles like Odyssey and Origins, they were missed in Valhalla. The actual crime was that you could see enemy NPCs wielding them, but we couldn’t get our hands on them. Not to say that swords are entirely missing in the game as we do have greatswords, but they are rather bulky and take such a long time to swing! All that’s about to change with the latest additions to the game.
1. One-Handed Swords Confirmed by Developers
One-Handed Swords were confirmed to be coming to AC Valhalla by José Araiza, AC Valhalla’s post-launch content producer, when YouTuber JorRaptor interviewed him.
According to José, the light swords are coming, but the devs need time to get the gameplay mechanics to be with them just right. It would be a shame that they release the swords and they are just reskinned daggers; thus, the time taken by Ubisoft is understandable.
2. Best One-Handed Swords: First Look
One-handed swords are not released as of now in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Once they drop, we will get to see the best one-handed sword that would trump all the others; for now, all we have is a small glimpse.
We finally have caught a glimpse of one-handed swords in AC Valhalla as YouTuber GAMERLLIL Games was able to equip two of these light swords in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
Right now, they have the animations from the daggers, so we would have to wait up for the next update to get actual light sword animations as well. If you look closely at the sword design, Ciara used these weapons in her battle, so it would probably make sense to get some of her weapon animations ported to the weapons. Similarly, I would love to get Fulke’s cool-looking sword as well, but that one is a great sword even though it looks so light!
The design can be very well from the Assassin’s Creed Mentor’s Guild that was supposed to come out sometime in July.
Ubisoft Montreal has been continuously pushing new content to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Hence, it is no surprise that they listened to the fans, and it is about time the classic light swords returned to Valhalla. I am expecting to see multiple light swords released with the update. Only time will tell how they fair up against other weapon classes.
