New DLC Coming to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla within Five Months

Since its release, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been getting a lot of add-on content from Ubisoft. The studio is pulling out all the stops to give fans more things to do in their expansive Norse world.

Between the DLCs and the Discovery Tour, players have been able to experience a wide gamut of Viking history and lore, if a bit embellished. This will continue as Ubisoft has planned the release of another major DLC before the financial year ends.

Valhalla has received two major pieces of DLC with the Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris expansions and more minor updates. Both added new story missions, gear, and locations to explore to the game, and the addition of the Discovery Tour: Viking Age gave fans a much more informative look at the lives of the people in that time period.

In its latest fiscal report, Ubisoft has confirmed that it will continue Valhalla’s post-launch support and is set to release a new expansion within the next five months to end the financial year. This would mean that a new expansion will be released for the game before March 2022, the end of the financial year for the video game industry.

This confirmation further reinforces the previously reported rumor of data miners leaking the potential name of the upcoming DLC. Allegedly titled Dawn of Ragnarok, the expansion will take Eivor to Svartalfheim, the realm of the dwarves, and give players access to new gear, achievements as well as powerful new abilities.

Not much is known about the expansion, but given the title alludes to the Norse version of armageddon, we can expect there to be a significant shift in the game world.

While some of the expansions planned for Valhalla were delayed, Ubisoft has stood steadfast to its promise of offering the game the most post-launch support out of any Assassin’s Creed title. The studio has also noted that in less than a year, Valhalla is the “2nd largest profit-generating game in Ubisoft history.”

Ubisoft has not announced any plans for the new Assassin’s Creed game anytime soon, so we can expect this new expansion will be pretty sizeable, and the studio will try to keep Valhalla relevant until a new title is announced.
