Assassin’s Creed’s Isu Language Deciphered by Its Community

There is no shortage of bewildering codes and ciphers in the Assassin’s Creed Series. One such is the Isu Language. The mysterious Isu Language that gamers might have come across while playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has finally been translated.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise’s fan community, Access the Animus, should be credited for decoding the Isu Language.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla - We have Deciphered The isu Secret Language!

On January 13, A YouTube video was released by Access the Animus that translated the secret language of Isu to the fullest. Verbs, adjectives, and nouns – you name it! Everything about the ancient language was deciphered in this 30-minute long video.

By no means was this an easy job. Isu language comprises “complex grammar, alphabet, and a set of rules of its own.” Playing as Eivor, you will come across several pillars and tablets with Isu inscribed on them.

Moreover, you can see the fragmentary translation of the ancient vernacular on Layla’s computer while switching to the game’s modern portion.

For those unaware of the Isu vernacular, it first appeared in Assassin’s Creed 2 as the language of Isu or “Those Who Came Before.” They are the game’s precursor race responsible for making humans and Pieces of Eden.

This achievement by the team of enthusiasts has attracted a lot of praise. Narrative Director of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Darby McDevitt, praised Access the Animus on Twitter, and rightly so!

The insane amount of dedication that the writers and translators have put in is nothing short of sensational.

With Isu Language’s decryption now out, fans can expect the developers to add puzzles related to it in AC: Valhalla as players explore the Norse world.
