ASUS Announces Official BIOS Support For Intel's 13th Gen Raptor Lake CPUs
Intel Raptor Lake

Intel’s 13th gen Raptor Lake chips are about to launch in Fall 2022, and so far, the benchmark and test results have shown that the next-gen processors will be relatively faster than their Alder Lake predecessors.

AMD is also launching its Ryzen 7000 series around the same time. The added benefit that Intel has over AMD is its support for DDR5 as well as DDR4 memory type in their upcoming CPUs. This was confirmed by the leaked DDR4 variants of ASRock’s motherboard lineup.

With the next-gen chips, Intel will also launch its upcoming motherboard lineup, the 700 series. The Z790 will act as the flagship motherboard along with H770 and B760 included in the 700 series.

The motherboards are impressive over the current-gen 600 series, but there’s no need to upgrade to a new motherboard as the 600 series motherboards are still good enough. Although if you are looking to improve your CPUs, you must have a motherboard that supports them.

If you use an ASUS B660 or H610 motherboard, it doesn’t look like you will be able to upgrade to Raptor Lake CPUs when they come out. However, there are still months left till the launch of Raptor Lake processors, and we should see more BIOS support by ASUS and other manufacturers.
