New Info Detailing Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Gunsmith System Uncovered

Call of Duty: Vanguard’s first alpha on PlayStation was kicked off on August 27 and concluded yesterday on August 29.

While the primary focus of the test was Champion Hill, fans have taken to the game’s code like moths to a flame and uncovered important details about the upcoming title.

The first batch of info unearthed from the game’s code has to do with its gunsmith system, which comprises various ammo-related elements. The system first appeared in Call of Duty: BlackOps Cold War and Call of Duty: Warzone and has gone on to become a franchise regular.

Seeing how the StG 44 Assault Rifle screen has leaked online, thanks to TheGhostOfMW on Twitter, CoD fans now know what attachment counts to expect in the game.

As you can see above, slots for the Optic, Muzzle, and Stock are available, but players will be able to customize the magazine and a perk slot as well.

But what’s most intriguing is at the bottom left corner of the image, where it says that the player has one of ten attachments equipped on their gun.

This makes for a big bump up in attachments if compared to recent CoD titles. For instance, BlackOps Cold War allows for five attachments to a gun.

The number can be bumped up to eight using the Gunfighter wildcard, but that is still two less than what players can expect in Vanguard.

While more attachments sound great on paper, it could make balancing an issue, especially in Warzone. Most guns in the battle royale don’t have enough room for ten attachments, so an adjustment might be necessary.

In addition to the number of attachments, we also have a list of all the attachments that will feature in Vanguard. The list comes courtesy of reputed CoD data miner TheMW2Ghost, and it is quite an extensive one.

It also includes the levels at which each attachment can be unlocked. Furthermore, the list makes it clear that weapon levels scale up to 71, which is quite a tall order.

Call of Duty: Vanguard will arrive on November 5 on PC, PS4|5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. While the game is months away from release, file size is already a concern, just like with most other CoD titles.

But seeing how developer Sledgehammer is going for photo-realistic graphics with the new title, the payoff in gigabytes might be worth it.

About Call of Duty WWII: Vanguard

Call of Duty: Vanguard is an upcoming first-person shooter by Sledgehammer Games. The game will likely throw players into all the action in World War II, much like 2017’s Call of Duty: WWII. Currently, the game has no confirmed release date.
