The River Gate geyser puzzle in Aurvangar Wetlands in God of War: Ragnarok is a series of puzzles consisting of a wheel puzzle and two geyser puzzles. Check out this guide to easily solve them and cross the river gate.
Wheels Puzzle
Kratos will encounter a giant wheel in the Aurvangar Wetlands in Svartalfheim. To get across, follow these steps:
- Climb up the wooden structure nearby and approach the wheel.
- Using the Blades of Chaos, pull hard to get the wheel moving and lower it as required.
River Gate Puzzles
Using a boat, you can get across the water through the gap in the broken wheel. Upon reaching a nearby shore, Kratos must fight against some foes before proceeding toward the puzzle. There are two geysers, side by side. The one above is open, while the lower one is closed.
- Use the Leviathan Axe to crack open the geyser.
- Climb up the nearby rocks so that you have a direct line of sight of the second geyser.
- Throw the Axe at the geyser to freeze it, causing the water pressure from the lower geyser to get the wheel turning. The adjacent gate will then be lowered.
The third puzzle is the most difficult to solve. When you reach the jammed gate, follow these steps to resolve the final puzzle and move forward.
- Go to where Atreus is standing.
- Throw the Leviathan Axe at the chain upholding the metal block, which will cause it to drop down and make way for Kratos and Atreus.
- Just ahead, there will be a chain. Pull it to lower the gate.
- To your left, another chain can be found atop the wooden structure.
- Freeze the geyser to make way for crossing.
- A closed geyser will be nearby; use your Axe to open it.
- Go back to the first geyser and freeze it. This will cause the second geyser to erupt and get the wheel turning.
- Climb atop the metal block under the wooden structure. Once you’re there, freeze the geyser, which will cause the block to go up.
- Quickly get off the block onto the upper level since the block will go down soon after.
- Open up the boxes nearby to obtain Forged Iron and Hacksilver.
- Approach the chain and pull it to fully lower the gate.
Afterward, you can return to a boat with Atreus and swiftly get across the waters.
