Invites for Battlefield 2042’s First Tech Test Set to Roll Out

Lock and load. EA is all set to begin sharing invites for Battlefield 2042’s first tech test.

The test will run in three-hour slots from Thursday, August 12 to Monday, August 16, but as per The Gamer, not everybody will get a shot at participation.

Invites will go out only to those who have an EA Playtesting profile.

Additionally, if you think you’ll get to see live streams or videos of the test, think again: all participants will be required to sign Non-disclosure Agreements to be a part of the test.

EA Playtesters who don’t get an invite this time around need not worry as there will be another tech test before the open beta drops in September.

Those outside the playtesting program will get to participate in this beta subject to the availability of invites or whichever system EA will put in place.

Battlefield 2042 is not the only title that has launched a preview recently. 343 Industries’ highly-anticipated Halo Infinite recently opened its first beta or technical preview to some lucky fans.

It gave them a peek at the game’s multiplayer and showcased performance on PC and across Xbox’s various consoles.

After much speculation and rumor-mongering, Battlefield 2042 finally debuted at the Microsoft & Bethesda Showcase at E3 2021. The trailer detailed the game’s futuristic setting and gave fans a look at its much-debated disaster mechanics.

Shortly after the trailer premiered, EA announced that Battlefield would not have a single-player campaign.

However, the lack of a campaign should not be a cause for worry, as EA is making up for it by adding a lot more to Battlefield 2042.

This includes doubling the max player count from 64 to 128, three multiplayer modes, DLSS Support, Crossplay functionality, and more.

What’s more, the third multiplayer mode – Battlefield Portal – that was announced for the game last month will be the franchise’s most ambitious undertaking  to date.

Battlefield arrives for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on October 22.

About Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is the seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The game is a first-person online multiplayer shooting title. This installment of Battlefield will not feature a single-player campaign mode.

The year is 2042 and the world is in ruins. Natural disasters run rampant, ocean levels have risen, the world economy has collapsed, and the US and Russia are at war. You step into the shoes of a non-patriated soldier – a soldier without a side. The games’ story will be revealed through episodic additions, allowing players to create a future for themselves and other non-pats in a world on the brink of destruction.
