New World: A Detailed Guide to Gathering Rawhide ǀ Best Farming Spots

Rawhide is a tier-one common crafting resource in Amazon’s New World. It’s used in crafting Leather, Crude Iron Armor, and Crude Iron Armaments along with a few other basic tools. Using Rawhide in crafts is the most efficient way to quickly level up your Leatherworking trade skill in New World.

Rawhide can be gathered by hunting and skinning wild animals like boars, wolves, lynxes, mountain lions, etc. Players must imperatively equip the skinning knife to retrieve Rawhide right after defeating an animal.

Gathering Rawhide will increase players skinning & tracking trade skills, allowing them to skin and track higher level beasts on their map.

Best Locations to Farm Rawhide in New World!

1. First Light- Fullmoon Den

The Fullmoon Den is located south of the First Light settlement and can be accessed easily in earlier stages of the game as First Light is a primary starting zone in New World.

The Fullmoon Den is loaded with tons of wolves with a short respawn timer to defeat and skin. Unfortunately, as this is a beginner’s zone, the wolves only drop a few Rawhides per kill, so it is better to level up and move onto the next location quickly.

2. Cutlass Keys- Fort Ramos

Fort Ramos of Cutlass Keys is packed with beasts like Tropical Boar, Leopards, and lost hounds, who drop a stunning 42-45 Rawhide per kill, but remember that this is a high-level area. It is highly recommended to be at least level 35 before you go in venturing for some Rawhides there.

Most of the animals are wandering in the woods surrounding the fort, so keep circling around the fort, gathering Rawhides until you are satisfied.

3. Monarch’s Bluffs- Offal Grotto

Offal Grotto is a den located west of the Achernar Gate Shrine in Monarch’s Bluffs. The surrounding of this den is filled with numerous Lynxes that drop several Rawhides per kill, and you can gather enough for your needs within just a few minutes. Offal Grotto farming spot is recommended only for players above level 15.

Unfortunately, you will find several other players farming Rawhide at this location just like you, and you may have to battle it out with them to get your hands on the sweet loot, so be prepared.
