The most popular First-person shooter franchise is back this year with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. You might confuse with the 2009 game of the same game, but this one is the sequel of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, released in 2019. The game’s trailer had players excited to get their hands on the beta, which is finally kicking off this month.
So far, Activision has said that
“the Modern Warfare II Beta is set to feature a robust multiplayer experience going beyond the Core 6v6 experience with a variety of meticulously designed maps of various sizes, and an equally impressive set of Modes, Progression experiences, and other aspects.”Activision
Now, the official dates of the beta testing have been revealed as it first kicks off with PlayStation users who pre-ordered the game on Friday, September 16th, and slowly opens up for the rest of the users on other platforms.
PC players get the shorter end of the straw as the beta opens for them the last. The beta opens up to all platforms on Saturday, September 24, at 10 am PT / 6 pm BST and ends on Monday, September 26. That’s the weekend when anyone on all available platforms can download and play.
The Modern Warfare 2 beta opens up according to the following schedule-
- September 16 – 17: PlayStation pre-order players
- September 18 – 20: All PlayStation players
- September 22 – 23: All PlayStation players and Xbox/PC pre-orders
- September 24 – 26: All players on all platforms
Activision also has a total of 10 in-game rewards you can earn by leveling up during the beta weekends. Level 15 will net you a “Side Impact” weapon blueprint, and level 18 the “Collision” operator skin. There is also a tank skin and another weapon skin among all the rewards mentioned in Activision’s post.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, along with Warzone 2.0 and Warzone mobile, will be revealed at Call of Duty Next, Activision’s showcase for these upcoming CoD games. By the time the beta ends, players will have to wait almost another month for Modern Warfare 2, which releases on October 28th.
