Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has been a huge success and also the reason why the franchise made a comeback and is still relevant to this day. But it looks like Activision is giving the game a bit of a boost by making its multiplayer free for a week, so that players who haven’t played the game get a taste of the multiplayer experience.
Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer mode will be free to play for a week. The free trial of the multiplayer mode will be available from April 19th until April 26th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Players can access some of the ongoing Season 3 content during the free to play week. All of Modern Warfare 2’s multiplayer content will be available, which will be enough to keep players busy for the week. Take a look at the content that’ll be available for the week below:
- 6v6 Core Maps: Farm 18, Shoot House, Shipment, Dome, Himmelmat Expo, Pelayo’s Lighthouse
- 6v6 Modes: Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Domination, Kill Confirmed, Grind, Gun Game, Infected, One in the Chamber, All or Nothing
- Gunfight Maps: Alley, Blacksite, Exhibit, Shipment
- Battle Maps: Santa Seña
- Battle Map Modes: Ground War, Invasion
Season 3 introduced two new multiplayer maps which are Black Gold and Pelayo’s Lighthouse. During the free access period, only Pelayo’s Lighthouse will be available. More details about the map below:
“Whether you’re descending via helicopter or making a daring amphibious assault, Pelayo’s Lighthouse challenges Operators to navigate across a small, craggy island during an intense evening storm. The map includes various maintenance buildings supporting the central Main Building and the eponymous lighthouse near its center.”
For accessing the free multiplayer, an “additional download” will be required, the sizes will vary depending on the console that you’re playing on. So, grab your guns, equip your loadout and jump back into Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s multiplayer mode.
