Elden Ring, the much-awaited open-world RPG created and written by Hidetaka Miyazaki and George R. R. Martin, is finally released on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. It is another fantastic addition to Miyazaki’s long list of painfully challenging souls-like games. Generally, these games are inherently online-only, allowing players to access co-op mode and invade other players.

But, not everyone out there is crazy about PvP and co-op modes. Some of us just want to enjoy the beautiful environment and seamless gameplay of Elden Ring without any flashy online content, which brings us to the million-dollar question, “can Elden Ring be played offline?”

Play Elden Ring in Offline Mode by Tweaking This Minor Setting — Elden Ring

Elden Ring can be played offline by changing the in-game network-launch settings to “Play Offline.”

To play Elden Ring offline:

Step 1: Launch Elden Ring.
Step 2: Go to System from Main Menu.
Step 3: Navigate to the Network tab and find ‘Launch Settings.’
Step 4: Set the Launch Settings to ‘Play Offline.’
Step 5: Re-launch Elden Ring to apply the settings.

Once the new settings are applied, you will be able to play Elden Ring in offline mode. In offline, you will not be able to play co-op, summon other players, and see their messages. Elden Ring has a ton of content to be explored in offline mode, so don’t worry about missing out on important story events or quests.

If the offline world doesn’t suit you, then you can always revert back to the online settings by following the same steps mentioned above.

Additionally, if the players on PlayStation and Xbox do not have the PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions, they will not be able to play Elden Ring online, and their game will always boot in offline mode.
