Cyberpunk 2077 has multiple life paths to offer, and you can play each of them, but does Cyberpunk 2077 allow you to switch between multiple characters on the fly?
Cyberpunk 2077 was a storm in brewing; 7 years in development had hyped everyone’s excitement levels beyond imagination. When the game dropped, the bugs and glitches that plagued the gameplay left a sour spot. It was only the characters and story that propped the fatal launch. One such element is the multiple life paths that players can take.
1. Can You Have Multiple Characters in Cyberpunk 2077?
No, you can not have multiple characters in the same save game in Cyberpunk 2077. That is, you cannot just switch from a corpo lifepath to a nomad lifestyle on the fly in Cyberpunk 2077.
Those of you coming from AC Valhalla might be used to switching from female Eivor to male Eivor in-between the story, but that is not exactly possible in Cyberpunk 2077. Well, for one, because each character’s lifepaths are quite different so it would not make much sense to change lifepaths in the same storyline (Even though eventually all the lifepaths converge to the same storyline).
There is a workaround if you want to try on the different lifestyles in Cyberpunk 2077, and it just as easy as picking a new life path.
2. How to Have Multiple Characters in Cyberpunk 2077?
You can have multiple characters by using new save slots. Start a new character, choose a life path and save it in a new slot. Yes, you can have one character per new save slot in Cyberpunk 2077.
This one feels a bit like a hack, but I think this is how CDPR meant the game to be played with players trying out different character choices. SPOILER ALERT: They all turn out to be the same!
3. Saving a New Character in a New Save Slot
You won’t need to delete previous slots to try on a different character; just simply start a new game. Be sure to manually save your current character!
Technically you have as many characters as the save slots allow in Cyberpunk 2077.
4. About Cyberpunk 2077
Cyberpunk 2077 is an action-adventure RPG developed and published by CD Projekt Red.
The game is set in Night City, a seemingly utopian megalopolis where anything and everything is possible, on the surface, that is. We play as V, a mercenary that is after an implant that serves as the key to immortality. The humongous game world offers a lot of pathways, choices, allies, and enemies. The best part; every single choice and action of yours will forge the story around you!
Cyberpunk 2077 released on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia on December 10th, with a PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X release set for 2021!
