Capcom Reveals Release Date for Resident Evil Village, Announces System Requirements

Capcom announced Resident Evil Village‘s release date, the latest entry in the Resident Evil franchise, in a Livestream conducted earlier today. Resident Evil Village would be coming to various platforms, according to Capcom.

The year is turning out to be an early Christmas for the fans of the Resident Evil franchise. Earlier today, Capcom conducted a Livestream on Twitch where they revealed a lot of important information regarding their latest title, Resident Evil Village, a.k.a. Resident Evil 8.

In addition to announcing a playable demo available exclusively on the PS5 store (which inadvertently broke the website), the company revealed the release date, and the platforms on which Village would be coming, along with the system requirements.

Resident Evil Village will release on May 7, 2021. The game would be available on the PS4, the Xbox One, PC, and next-gen consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

A lot of rumors and leaked information were already around regarding the latest entry in the franchise. According to the rumors, fans believed that the game would release some time around April 2021. However, the reveal from Capcom has only added to the excitement surrounding Resident Evil Village.

Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village would be coming to the Xbox One, the PS4, PC and next-gen consoles like the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. They also mentioned that Village:

“Will be eligible to upgrade from PlayStation 4 to the digital PlayStation 5 version and will support Smart Delivery for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles.”
