A New Action-packed Story Trailer for Far Cry 6 is Here

Gamescom 2021 has been a stellar event so far, bringing announcements for some of this year’s most anticipated games.

With the release date for Halo Infinite being revealed at the event and Forza Horizon 5 receiving breathtaking new gameplay footage, the latest game to receive an update at the event is Far Cry 6.

Ubisoft dropped a new story trailer for the game at Opening Night Live, and you can check it out by hitting play on the video below.

The trailer showcases the game’s primary antagonist Anton Castillo (played by the always-excellent Giancarlo Esposito) and dives a little bit into how he runs the island of Yara. We also get to see a slice of his relationship with his son Diego.

In a TV interview, Castillo expands on his goal to make Yara a paradise and reveals what is at the center of it all – a cure for cancer that you can smoke. But all is not well as a rebellion against Castillo is on the rise, which he also addresses in the interview.

We also see how ruthless Castillo really is; opening fire on a ship full of people, brutally murdering rebels via firing squad, hellbent on achieving his goals no matter the means.

Also featured in the trailer is Dani Rojas, a former Yara soldier who is a survivor of the previously mentioned ship attack and now a guerilla fighter at the forefront of the rebellion.

As is evident, we have an action-packed trailer for Far Cry 6 on our hands. It will be interesting to see where the game’s story takes these characters when it finally arrives on October 6.

About Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6 is the latest insallment in the Far Cry series developed and published by Ubisoft. The game is an open-world, first-person action adventure title, and is set for a 2021 release.

Players will take control of Dani Rojas, a freedom fighting guerrilla, who is trying to overthrow the local dictator Anton Castillo. Far Cry 6 is based on the fictional island of Yara, and has been called the largest map of any Far Cry game yet. Players will have access to a variety of hand-made weapons and local vehicles in their fight against the forces of Castillo.
