File size has been a matter of concern for a while for every Call of Duty fan, and each update seems to eat away more and more at their hard drives. Activision also tends to release the size of the updates beforehand, giving players the time they need to prepare for the download. Season 4 of Cold War launches on June 15th and for Warzone on June 16th

These updates include changes to the maps, new weapons, bug fixes, and new in-game operators. Warzone’s Season 4 content was shown during the E3 reveal, and Cold War will have several new maps added along with an additional Zombies encounter. This new content will see an increase in file size from 11 GB to 30 GB, depending on the platform.

Black Ops Cold War Update File Sizes

  • PlayStation 5 – 30 GB
  • PlayStation 4 – 15.5 GB
  • Xbox Series X / Xbox Series S – 31.0 GB
  • Xbox One – 17.7 GB
  • PC – 21.6 GB without HD Pack / 30.7 GB with HD Pack

There is also going to be some hidden content added to Cold War. This makes the file size even larger as, along with the new maps, the new assets need to be added to the game. PC players should note that the update will require 60.6 – 92.1 GB of free space for a temporary copying process during the update. Those looking to reduce the size can delete the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign to save some space on their systems.
