Ubisoft Reveals Full Breakdown of Far Cry 6 PC Specs

After multiple delays, Far Cry 6 is finally on the way to fans. The latest instalment in the long-running Far Cry franchise drops early next month, and developer Ubisoft has detailed the PC requirements of the game across different modes.

The most significant advantage of playing Far Cry 6 (and many other titles) on PC is that you will be able to adjust output depending on your setup.

While a satisfactory setup will run the game just fine, those chasing that 4K 60fps high will need worthy hardware.

Here’s a full breakdown of the required PC specs for Far Cry 6:

Minimum Requirements – 1080p 30fps

  • AMD Ryzen 3 1200 / Intel Core i5-4460
  • AMD Radeon RX 460 / Nvidia GeForce GTX 960
  • 4GB of VRAM
  • 8GB of RAM (Ubisoft recommends a dual-channel setup)
  • 60GB of Storage
  • Windows 10 64-bit

Recommended Requirements – 1440p 60fps Ultra Preset

  • AMD Ryzen 5 3600X / Intel Core i7-9700
  • AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT / Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super
  • 8GB of VRAM
  • 16GB of RAM (Ubisoft recommends a dual-channel setup)
  • 60GB of Storage
  • Windows 10 64-bit

Ultra Requirements – 4K 30fps Ultra (With Ray Tracing)

  • AMD Ryzen 7 3700 / Intel Core i7-9700
  • AMD Radeon RX 6800 / Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080
  • 10GB of VRAM
  • 16GB of RAM (Ubisoft recommends a dual-channel setup)
  • 60GB of Storage
  • Windows 10 64-bit

The minimum specs required to play the game won’t be too hard to come by as most current-gen PCs are well-equipped, but some of the more demanding specs listed above might surprise many.

However, it’s important to note that Far Cry is coming pre-loaded with loads of new-cutting edge tech, like DirectX Raytracing and AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution. So, it’s natural that players will need high-grade tech to run the game.

That being said, running the game on high settings could still be an issue as new GPUs remain missing from shelves, thanks to the global semiconductor shortage.

Industry insiders claim that the drought will run well into 2023, so if you don’t have a high-end PC, it would be wise to make do with what you currently have.

Far Cry 6 is one of the most highly-anticipated titles of the year, seeing how 2020 only got a handful of new releases.

Gamers will be eating good in the last quarter of the year as other AAA releases include Halo Infinite, Battlefield 2042, and Call of Duty: Vanguard.

What’s more, Sony finally announced its PlayStation showcase yesterday. The event is scheduled for September 9 and will detail what Sony is releasing later this year and in 2022.

Far Cry 6 will launch on October 6 for PC, PS4|5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Stadia.
