While a patch is meant to mend things, it tends to take a contrary route in New World. The November update tried its best to do more good than harm, but miserably failed to do so. The result? A very interesting mission is now broken because of it.
If you have been wandering in the treacherous lanes of Aeternum, you know I’m talking about the Sweet Secrets.
‘Sweet Secrets’ is a level 32 side quest in New World where Naturalist Khunbish tasks you with obtaining Lush Sugarsap from Young Trees in Lush Hideaway. Unfortunately, the mission is bugged and cannot be completed because the quest item won’t drop from the trees.
Despite being in the correct zone and farming multiple Young Trees, the fruit of labor turned out to be bitter for enthusiasts. Some even went the extra mile and chopped down every tree in sight just to find themselves returning empty-handed.
On top of this, I feel bad for our NPC, Yargui Khunbish, here too. She’s just a snob who refuses to polish off the sweet product of Apoidea. This Naturalist has her priorities in order and would prefer Lush Sugarsap of the southern caverns for her tea over any mediocre ingredient.
But the quest is glitchy, and it looks like our foodie will have to do without her beverage. So, what can you do to turn her fortunes around?
Restart the game to fix the Sweet Secret quest item bug in Amazon’s New World. As of now, there are no solutions for this glitch and no updates from Amazon so it’s hard to say when it’ll be resolved. Restarting the game only works half the time but it’s worth a shot.
Now, the beauty of this bug is that if you’re lucky, you might not even face the bug in the Sweet Secret quest. Then you can move on to finishing the quest while being completely oblivious to the glitch. Let me tell you how.
Starting ‘Sweet Secrets’ Quest in New World
To start the ‘Sweet Secrets’ quest in New World, you will have to talk to Yargui Khunbish. She can be found below The Eldritch, Brightwood, where two roads intersect.
Here, this Naturalist will ask you to bring her x6 Lush Sugarsap from Young Trees in Lush Hideaways so she can drink the tea she’s preparing.
Finding Lush Sugarsap from Young Trees
In New World, Lush Sugarsap from Young Trees can be collected from the Lush Hideaway, which is a dungeon area situated in the southeast of Brightwood.
Once you reach the location, head inside the caves. Many players make the mistake of chopping trees found outside, which is useless as it doesn’t come under the quest zone. You will have to cut trees that are inside the cavern to receive Lush Sugarsap.
Moreover, it’s essential you know that the enemies in this location are a bit different from what the rest of Aeternum usually throws at you. Unlike Corrupted or Withered foes, you will find the natural guardian spirits of the Azoth Tree attempting to butcher you.
But besides their aesthetics, nothing is different about them, and the good thing is that they are easy to beat. So, eliminate them if they come at you and acquire what you are looking for by slashing trees.
When you have collected x6 Lush Sugarsap, go back to Yargui Khunbish’s location and provide her with it so she can get to brewing her tea, and you can be done with the mission.
Thankfully, as it turns out, being Yargui’s little errand boy has some privileges, too, as you get to win some exciting rewards.
Rewards of ‘Sweet Secrets’ Quest in New World
After completing ‘Sweet Secrets’ in New World, players will get the following rewards:
- 1,560 XP
- 77.50 Coin
- 175 Standing
- 10 Azoth
- A Level 32 Weapon Case
Furthermore, after ‘Sweet Secrets’’ completion, a new quest called ’Verdant Adelphia’ is unlocked. This mission is a story of its own where you are entrusted with finding Adelphian Tubers from the Verdant Cavern for Yargui Khunbish.
Just like its predecessor, Verdant Adelphia is one uncomplicated quest and helps you win exciting rewards as well.
