While progressing through the main story in God of War: Ragnarok, the game will always tell you to complete Favor Quests which are side missions, as they add much more to the lore and make the experience better. They’re also great in exploring hidden parts of the 9 realms and the side missions have their own interesting story line too.
In Vanaheim, near the Cliffside Ruins, you’ll come across a Spirit called Gunhild which begins the Favor Quest, “Conscience for the Dead”. The main objective is to free the souls of Gunhild’s known ones. If you’re confused about what to do, this guide will help you complete the quest.
Here’s everything you need to do in order to complete the objectives and finish the quest.
1. First, interact with Gunhild in Cliffside Ruins and begin the quest. Then, go left, climb up the wall and jump on the platforms on the left. You’ll come across a chain blocked by spiky vines. Clear those vines using Freya’s Sigil Arrows.
2. Now that the chain is free, drop down the platform and climb up the chain. Continue walking on the path and interact with the wall to carve a Rune. This will open a hidden region to you called Goddess Falls.
3. Head back to the boat and continue along the river. After reaching Goddess Falls, take a left and turn right. Continue along that path and you’ll unlock another region called The Veiled Passage.
4. Dock the boat and then break the wall on the left side. After breaking it, climb the wall on the left side and head up the platform.
5. Continue and go deeper until you find the Seidr Spirits. Defeat the Spirits, then go back to Gunhild.
That’s how you can complete the “Conscience for the Dead” Favor Quest.
