New App Allows You to Customize the DualSense Triggers on Devices

The PlayStation 5 has brought many technological innovations to the gaming community, but one of the most talked-about aspects is the DualSense controller. The fantastic haptic feedback these controllers help to create a new dimension of immersion, unlike anything to date.

Providing varying feedback based on what the character on screen is interacting with is a massive leap forward from the usual rumble box of other controllers.

The controllers can be used with most gaming devices that support Bluetooth but without stellar haptic feedback. One of the controller’s highlights is the adaptive trigger buttons that recreate tension based on the character action. Pulling a bowstring back would gradually increase the force needed to depress the trigger, while a shotgun blast would recreate the pressure of the trigger click.

A new app now lets you tweak the settings of these triggers, as long as you have an iOS device. Called the PS5 Controller Trigger Test and created by Rihab Mehboob, the app has been designed to help make the trigger experience more suited to your needs.

I’ve always wanted to test and mess around with the different DualSense trigger effects. But not many games use it, and when they do, it’s not customizable. PS5 Controller Trigger Test is an easy-to-use app that allows you to test and mess around with the different DualSense trigger effects.

First, download the app onto your computer or mobile device, fire it up, and the app will guide you through the process of modifying everything about your controller, from the color of the light bars to the feedback of the triggers.

The PS5 Controller Trigger Test will allow you to customize all the various trigger effects such as vibration, weapon feedback, dead zone, amplitude, and frequency. Each trigger can be configured individually, and the app also features VoiceOver and 3D Touch support.

The app is currently available for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, and Mac. Those looking to use the app will need iOS 14.5 or higher on their mobile device and macOS 11.3 or later on the computer, the creator stated there are no plans to release the app on Android for the time being.
