Cyberpunk 2077’s Delay Forces Everspace 2 to Launch in January

The much-desired CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk has forced Everspace 2’s Early access to roll out in January. This has been done to avoid any sort of clash. Well, honestly to not live in the shadows of the upcoming game.

If I am a developer who knows that Cyberpunk 2077 comes out in November, I’d rather postpone the launch of my game for a month. There is no denying the fact that Cyberpunk is arguably one of the most awaited games ever.

Ever since the launch of The Witcher 3, I’ve literally worshipped CD Projekt. And then you get the most adorable man in the history of the universe, Keanu Reeves, to feature in your game. Honestly, who wouldn’t buy it?

Initially, Cyberpunk 2077 was expected to release on November 19. The date has now been shifted to December 10. All the companies that had their games out in November can finally take a deep breath. Their games will get attention!

However, for those companies that were supposed to release their games in December, all I can do is feel bad for them.

Because of Cyberpunk’s December release, Rockfish Games postponed the scheduled launch of Everspace 2 Early Access.

Who can really blame them? We all want our efforts to gain recognition. Consequently, Everspace 2 will release in January now.

“Let’s get the cyber elephant out of the room right away: The Cyberpunk 2077 release has just been pushed back to December 10, which is a major blow to our planned Everspace 2 Early Access release in mid-December. Not only will every media outlet and content creator cover the arguably most-anticipated AAA game in history throughout the entire holiday season (and not much else), we also know that there’s quite a bit of audience overlap within our community (and our team).”

About Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
