Unused Coliseum in Elden Ring Datamine Hints at Future DLC Content

Elden Ring was released just a little over a week ago, and players have had their hands full with exploring everything The Lands Between has to offer. But, there are some things that even the most intrepid players won’t be able to find: assets that were never used.

However, while a player may not be able to hunt these down, a data miner can, which is precisely what one has done.

@manfightdragon on Twitter has found an entire coliseum sitting in an inaccessible part of the map. The area is completely furnished and looks perfect for some type of multiplayer arena or DLC boss fight. They have uploaded a video of them managing to reach the end of the map. They then continue through a wall to discover the hidden area.

The camera shows an ancient Roman-style coliseum which would be perfect for some PvP. We can see multiple rows of seats, all looking down into a central fighting pit. On either side are chambers from where the fighters would emerge. Swords, spears, and other weapons litter the ground from what appears to be previous fights.

As is suggested by the discoverer of the area, this location could be reserved for some multiplayer arena DLC of some kind. It could also be a location where a DLC boss fight might occur. It would certainly make for an epic location, especially if they manage to get an audience to fill the seats as well.

The coliseum’s purpose is yet to be identified, but given that it is already included in the game, FromSoftware must have something planned. After all, why go through the trouble of making an entire location like that and not having it used for anything, right?
