Destiny 2’s Season of the Deep Poster Reveals Hints about Sloane’s Return

Bungie recently announced that Destiny 2 Season 21 would be titled “Season of the Deep.” This has led fans to believe that the game would feature a comeback of the Titan, a launch destination that was eventually vaulted. Bungie also shared a blog post regarding the upcoming season and what players can expect to see.

Bungie revealed the key art for the Season of the Deep, which is the Season 21 of Destiny 2. It features three Guardians, one for each class in Destiny 2, suspended or swimming in the water looking at an undersea structure.

You can spot two entities– a sea monster and a familiar character from Vanilla D2 called Sloane. The poster also revealed the new armor for all three classes which will be featured in Season 21. Bungie has not confirmed whether these costumes will be available for free or through Destiny 2’s season pass.

Almost anyone could identify Sloane by her silhouette. Her appearance indicates something sinister which might be a hint towards her story arc. Her right arm and hand radiate a similar glow as Taken’s limbs.

A possible storyline is that ever since Beyond Light transpired, Sloane has been involved in a solitary losing war and she is resisting the Taken. For those who don’t know, the Taken are a prime evil force in Destiny 2 and are now colluding with the Witness and Xivu Arath.

All in all, this just further adds up to the Titan theory. The Titan is a methane ocean moon with actual sea monsters inhibiting its depths. It wouldn’t be surprising to encounter the sea monster as displayed in the poster.

The eye seen in the Season of the Deep key art might belong to the mysterious serpentine creature seen in Destiny 2. This might be what the Lightfall DLC referred to as an enemy of the Witness locked on Titan. However, there are no solid details about the creature available yet. Looks like we will have to wait for Destiny 2’s Season 21 to unravel this mystery.
