Destiny 2 to See a Lot of Content Going Away

Change is the only constant. Ever since time came into existence, endless changes have been taking place in the universe. Then why should things with the gaming horizon be any different?

The developers of the online first person shooting game, Destiny 2, decided that it is too big and consequently, a lot of content should be removed.

Now, this announcement is certainly not sweet for fans.

There is still a plethora of stuff which fans haven’t tried out yet, as they believed there is a lot of time left.

But before being all agitated and jittery, one should know that there is a deadline of November 10. Thus, fans have enough time to try all the features before bidding farewell to them.

Alongside the disclosure of Destiny 2: Beyond Light back in June, the latest Destiny Content Vault, referred to as the DCV was also unveiled. The DCV will store all the uprooted content of the game until it is needed once again.

To simplify this it can be said that when the content is removed, players won’t have the option to interact with planets like Mars, Mercury, Io or Titan any longer. However, gamers will not lose these planets forever, either.

Owing to the studio’s new capacity of moving everything through the game effectively, players will lose access to locations for a year or more. We can expect these locations to return in future developments of the game.

This isn’t the first time that enthusiasts of popular service providing games are witnessing content being removed.

For instance, World of Warcraft had to stir up the whole game quite a few times to account for new game material.

Another case is the humongous 5.3 update version of Final Fantasy XIV which led to the deletion of several features.

This ultimately resulted in the game being well organized and smooth running. This approach incited positive reviews from the fans too.

The most prominent pieces of content which will disappear from this free-to-play online game, Destiny 2, are patrol destinations like Io, Titan, Mars and Mercury.

Things related to these locations like the rare weapons will no longer be housed for a long, long time.

There is an huge cloud of uncertainty regarding how this removal will affect current gameplay. It has not been clarified by the developers yet.
