Leaks Reveal More Details of “God of War-Style” AC Valhalla DLC

Assassin’s Creed fans have a lot to be excited for this Monday as Ubisoft plans to make a big announcement for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. However, a recent leak has revealed many details for the content included in the upcoming DLC. The speculations currently suggest that the showcase on Monday will reveal the next big update coming to Valhalla, Dawn of Ragnarok, and will take Eivor to the Norse mythological realm of Muspelheim.

Many hints and leaks have been building up Muspelheim as the next destination for our Viking Assassin, as has a post on Reddit by user makisekurisudesu. The post links to a few promotional images for the DLC on Imgur, with the first image revealing some new content coming with the update. The translation from simplified Chinese for the name of the DLC is “Doomsday Dawn”, which is already pretty close to the name Dawn of Ragnarok.

Other images reveal a new armor and weapon set that seem to be inspired by a fusion of ice and fire. The eyepatch on both the male and female versions of Eivor strongly references Odin, the Allfather. Eivor is also wielding a new kind of spear; however, it is not Odin’s mythical Gungnir as it can already be acquired in the base game.

Another image shows Eivor on a massive boar, looking over Asgard. The Norse realm of the Gods and the World Tree Yggdrasil appear to be afflicted by a kind of red blight. This may be signaling the beginning of Ragnarok.

Ubisoft themselves have not given any information about the Monday event. But, considering the tweet they put out – “There is more to see than Midgard in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla” – along with the several leaks, it will be quite a surprise if we don’t get some news about Eivor jumping realms, if not Muspelheim itself.

Valhalla is also reportedly getting a “40-hour God of War-style” DLC sometime in March 2022. This comes from Tom Henderson, a credible leaker for this kind of information, but it is still unclear what “God of War-style” means.

Given that we were realm jumping in God of War 2018, could this be further proof of Monday’s Muspelheim announcement? We have just a day left, so make sure you free up your calendar.
