Do You Need to Play Assassin’s Creed Series Before AC: Valhalla?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the next-gen title from the AC series, and it is meant to be played on its own. Though AC: Valhalla draws some elements from previous games, it is perfectly acceptable to play if you are a new player.

The Assassin’s Creed series took Desmond Miles in the original Assassin’s Creed to navigate the third crusade using the infamous Animus. Odyssey, on the other hand, took players to Athens, Greece. In 2020, the stage is set for the players to lead on their Viking Clan and leave their mark on England.

1. Should You Play Other Assassin’s Creed Games Before Valhalla?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is meant to have a stand-alone storyline; new players need not play the previous titles to enjoy the next-gen Valhalla. The new AC: Valhalla will start a fresh new chapter of the story depicting the Vikings.

Players who have played the previous titles will find some parallels between the creed, and new players can dive into the lore. However, the new Vikings Era will start afresh and have no links to the past titles like AC: Odyssey or AC: Origins.

2. Does Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Continue The AC Storyline?

AC: Valhalla will be covering the Viking Clan’s journey as they make a place for them in Europe and is not related to the original Assassin’s Creed storyline.
