Elden Ring Will Expand Beyond Just the Game, Says FromSoftware

It’s been less than a month since the release of Elden Ring, and it has been the hottest topic of conversation in the gaming community since its launch. The title is massive, offering FromSoftware fans a unique way to enjoy a game from the studio. But, the base game is only the beginning, and more is to come soon.  

The studio has said that fans can expect more as developers aim to expand Elden Ring’s “intellectual property” beyond the medium of games.  

Customers worldwide have been showering the game with praise for its unprecedented and overwhelming gameplay experience. Please look forward to more of Elden Ring as an IP (characters and other intellectual property) in hopes of expanding beyond the realm of games.

We don’t have any precise details yet of when and what content fans can expect. Elden Ring has a vast world filled with interesting characters, making for great protagonists for comics, shows, and even novels. The game’s commercial success suggests that we won’t have to wait too long before we get more news.  

Much effort was placed into creating Elden Ring so that we could exceed the expectations of our fans worldwide. In like manner, we will continue our efforts in expanding the brand beyond the game itself, and into everyone’s daily life.

Elden Ring won’t be the first game to break beyond the source medium. Recently, Amazon Prime Studios acquired permission to create a live-action God Of War adaptation. Expect to see even more cross-medium appearances of games and characters in the future. 

About Elden Ring

Elden Ring is the next major title to be released by FromSoftware, the developers of Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne and the Dark Souls franchise. Elden Ring is set to release on the February 25th, 2022.

The game is set in a world known as The Lands Between. Players will take control of a Tarnished to explore these lands and uncover the secrets it holds. The game is an open-world style title with emphasis on combat and traversal. There is also a multiplayer component, along players to summon others for co-operative play, or to be invaded for PvP encounters.
