In one of Todd Howard’s latest interviews, it was revealed that, as long as players have Xbox’s Game Pass, they will be getting Starfield and the much-anticipated Elder Scrolls 6 at no extra cost.
GamesIndustry.biz’s James Batchelor conducted the interview during which Todd also stated how Procedural Generation would play a key role in many of Bethesda’s future titles.
Many may remember the term “Procedural Generation” being thrown around a lot during the development of Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky.
While the idea of making an expansively random world where even the developers were unsure of what could surface sounds utterly delightful, the execution of it in No Man’s Sky early stages was severely lacking.
That said, how Bethesda utilizes procedural generation to their advantage will undoubtedly be interesting to see.
Coming back to Elder Scrolls 6 being available on Game Pass, this is honestly excellent news! Just imagine having a subscription to Xbox Game Pass and picking up Elder Scrolls 6 for not even a penny!
Also, seeing as how we all have pretty much been kept in the dark about how Bethesda will work with the game pass for its future video games, it’s becoming more and more clear now what the acquisition of Bethesda by Microsoft meant.
You see, as games are getting more and more expensive with each passing day, with the current-gen titles costing almost USD 70, the game pass is looking more and more lucrative as the best way to experience the latest games at a low month-based subscription.
No lies, it looks like a better bang for the buck at this point. So, if games such as Elder Scrolls 6 does land on the game pass in the future, both Microsoft and the subscribers to the service will benefit greatly from it.
Regardless, any information about Elder Scrolls 6 is still looking pretty distant, and Starfield may be coming sooner than we all think, so let’s just sit back and see how it all plays out!
