Finding yourself a little too obsessed with Resident Evil Village‘s Lady Dimitrescu? Well, maybe hybridizing her with Thomas the Tank Engine may reduce your interest.
Resident Evil Village is just a day away now, but that hasn’t stopped the community from modding whatever they can currently access. One modder, who goes by the name of Crazy Potato, felt that the game’s demo wasn’t scary enough and decided to take matters into their own hands. And the results are terrifying.
Titled the Count Theodora mod, this alteration to the game changes Lady Dimitrescu into a Thomas the Tank Engine hybrid. It’s just her face that has been swapped out for Tom the Train’s blank, emotionless visage, so you can already imagine what kind of nightmare fuel this is. But you don’t need to imagine it when you could watch the mod in action.
The addition of the Thomas the Tank Engine theme song in the back really ties into the frighteningly surreal atmosphere this mod creates. The mod also pays homage to one of the most famous and highly respected horror game demos, P.T. Just as Ethan Winters, the protagonist of Resident Evil Village, is going to be done in by the altered Lady Dimitrescu, a segment of the radio report which plays in P.T. can be heard in the background.
If the video wasn’t enough for you and you want to try out the real thing, you could do so in just a few simple steps.
- Ensure you have the Fully Mod Manager for Resident Evil 8 installed, which can be downloaded from here.
- Download and install the mod, which replaces the daughters of the castle with Lady Dimitrescu. Be warned that this does come with its share of annoyances, such as wonky A.I. and the fact that you won’t be able to defeat her.
- Download the Count Theodora mod from Nexus Mods and follow the install guidelines on the page.
But, this isn’t the first time modders have added a child’s favourite character to the world of Resident Evil Village. Barney, too has made an appearance!
Resident Evil Village is set to release on May 7th, 2021, for P.C., PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
