Evil Genius 2 Adds Wicked New Sandbox Mode; Announces Special Edition and More

With the release of Evil Genius 2: World Domination just around the corner, Rebellion Developments has made a slew of new announcements that are bound to make the game more fun for fans bent on taking over the planet.

Firstly, the game will now come with a Sandbox mode which will allow players (yes, you guessed right) to build their very own evil lairs with all the offerings available in the game right from the start. Secondly, in addition to its campaign mode, the game will also be getting Season based offerings that will have both free and paid content. Rebellion also outlined a physical Collector’s Edition and digital Deluxe Edition for the satirical lair builder.

Evil Genius is known to comprise story-driven campaign modes where each of the four geniuses has its own distinct story line. Sandbox mode removes this progression element and allows you total freedom to build the evil lair of your dreams, without having to worry about unlocking items and meeting story-related goals. Basically, this is the mode which helps you emulate all those evil masterminds that you so admired in your childhood.

Both editions of the game i.e. the Deluxe and the Collector’s, are currently available at a pre-order discount of 10% on Steam. Players who already own Evil Genius get 15% off. Pre-purchased copies will also include bonus in-game items Fountain of Youth and Trojan Horse. However, if you’re definitely sold on the game, we recommend getting the Deluxe Edition as it includes the base game, Season Pass One, the Fountain of Youth and Trojan Horse items, and an Aurora Borealis bonus item.

For those looking to add Evil Genius 2 to their physical disk library, Collector’s Edition is the natural way to go. The highlight of this edition is the limited-edition Maximilian vinyl figure, showing the evil icon sat on the throne in his inner sanctum. The edition will also come with a printed magazine which features developer interviews, genius profiles, and more information about the game’s new special features along with comics featuring all four geniuses and their henchmen. And if this wasn’t enough, the Collector’s edition will also include a Steam Key for Season Pass One and all three bonus items along with the Steam Key for the base game.
