Mediatonic have announced that Fall Guys for Switch and Xbox will not be arriving this Summer as earlier scheduled. Additionally, the british developers neglected to share a new release date so we might not be seeing the versions anytime soon.
The team has cited the need for more time to include features as the main reason for the delay.
“We’ve realized that our previously announced Summer 2021 Switch and Xbox release schedule is unfortunately just too soon for us to include all of the tasty new features we’re working on,”

In this announcement, Mediatonic also said that crossplay will be one of the new features coming to the game.
“While we want to launch on these platforms as quickly as possible, we believe the Switch and Xbox releases are really going to be worth waiting for and we’re super grateful for your patience. This delay gives our team some time to add features like crossplay, so when we add new platforms, players will be able to stumble in harmony with their pals, regardless of their platform of choice.”

Crossplay is a hefty feature to add to any game so the need for extra time seems warranted. However, Mediatonic has also promised that while they work on bringing the Switch and Xbox versions at the earliest, the team
“will keep rolling out new Seasonal content releases, fresh Shows, Costumes, Rounds and all the other delicious things you know and love.”

This includes content for the upcoming Season 4.5 which will mark the middle of the game’s 80s themed fourth season. Two fiendish new Rounds along with new Fall fashion for player wardrobes will be coming to the game via the update.
Fall Guys was added to the Epic Games Store earlier this year and also has a line of toys on the way from Moose Toys. The line will be titled Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout toys and will include new figures, collectibles, premium plush, and more. However, the official release date of the line remains unclear.
