Far Cry 6 Has Something for Players Even After the Story is Over

Far Cry is easily one of the most anticipated upcoming games, and the hype is just going to keep building. The game features an entirely new narrative and setting, characters, weapons, environments, and challenges, ensuring players have a lot to play around with when the game releases. Now, it seems that players will be treated to some post-game content as well.

One of the biggest gripes with many AAA open-world games is the lack of end-game content. Once a player is done with the story, all they have left are the side missions they previously had not completed. Far Cry is also guilty of this, leaving players with a bare open world with nothing to at the end of the main story other than have random encounters with enemies.

But, this may change with Far Cry 6. Lead game designer David Grivel has stated that there will be “something else” for players to busy themselves with once they have finished the main storyline. This little bit of news came out during an interview with YouTuber JoRaptor. Grivel didn’t say much more than that but said we could look forward to more details during the Ubisoft Forward event at E3 2021.

The “something else” could refer to a lot of possibilities. Many games give players ways to keep experiencing the game once the main objectives are accomplished. For example, in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, once the player has gotten through the Dark Brotherhood questline, the game will continue to offer assassination contracts infinitely, even after the end of the main questline.

At this point, all we can do is guess about the end-game content for Far Cry 6. We’ve got a lot of in-game information, along with a gameplay trailer and the inclusion of a notoriety system within the game that allows enemies to recognize the player. But there is still a lot left that we need to know.

Far Cry 6 is the latest insallment in the Far Cry series developed and published by Ubisoft. The game is an open-world, first-person action adventure title, and is set for a 2021 release.

Players will take control of Dani Rojas, a freedom fighting guerrilla, who is trying to overthrow the local dictator Anton Castillo. Far Cry 6 is based on the fictional island of Yara, and has been called the largest map of any Far Cry game yet. Players will have access to a variety of hand-made weapons and local vehicles in their fight against the forces of Castillo.
