When will the Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Forgotten Saga be released?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Forgotten Saga DLC will be released on August 2nd, 2022, as a free update to the game.

It is more than possible that the DLC is already out by the time you are reading this.

Forgotten Saga will bring an entirely new roguelike mode to the game, where players make repeated attempts to get through a challenging set of encounters.

What is the AC Valhalla Forgotten Saga about?

The lore of AC Valhalla Forgotten Saga is about Odin infiltrating the realm of Niflheim to save his son Baldr.

It serves as a continuation of Odin’s story from the Dawn of Ragnarok DLC. Forgotten Saga will also introduce and develop the story around Fenrir and Hel, son and daughter of Loki, the trickster Norse god, who is a vital character in the Assassin’s Creed storyline.

AC Valhalla Forgotten Saga Gameplay

The Forgotten Saga gameplay will begin with Odin infiltrating Niflheim in a powerless state, developing his strength over time through several infiltration attempts. Death will reset all of your progress, however, some permanent enhancements will carry over across runs making later attempts a bit easier.

Odin will reportedly be able to receive boons along the journey as a reward for achieving goals, which might include eliminating certain opponents or clearing out enemy locations. These boons (currency, weapons, and armor) will vary for each infiltration attempt.

The player’s inventory seems to contain only four item slots: two for melee weapons and shields, one for a ranged weapon, and one for the armor.

Also, Forgotten Saga reportedly has different biomes, all with different sets of enemies suitable to the environment, making it all the more enjoyable!
