Fortnite Rolls out an In-game Video Chat Feature

In such worrying times of a global pandemic, it’s always risky going out. While stay-at-home, on the other hand, can be lonesome. Therefore, technology has been fully focused on brightening your lives up despite the recent difficulties.

One such shining example is Fortnite. Epic Games announced that you can video chat and play the battle royale with your friends simultaneously. All you need is the Epic acquired Houseparty app.

To put this feature into action, players will have to connect their Epic and Houseparty accounts. Upon the completion of this linking, a “Fortnite mode” can be activated.

This will enable you and your friends to play together with your live feeds appearing on the left side of your platform’s screen. It must be kept in mind that there’s a party limit of 10 people. Moreover, on your screen, only 4 players can be seen on the basis of their activity.

Another thing to be kept in mind is that you’ll either need an Android or iOS phone with Houseparty installed for your camera. Webcam cannot be utilized.

To simplify, Fortnite would be played on a PC or console with your smartphone’s camera adjusted to display your live feed.

The AI of Houseparty will automatically detect your face too. Consequently, your background will be replaced with colorful visuals. Not only will this keep the players concentrated but also guarantees safety.

Now whether you like this feature or not depends totally on you. It’s true that you will have some amount of proximity while playing with your friends. Many tend to disagree too. Watching the faces of other gamers while playing the game can be a major distraction too.
