Genshin Impact Anime to Primarily Focus on Legendary Archon War

The official Genshin Impact anime adaptation was announced during the 3.1 Special Program. The show is a collaboration project between Genshin Impact developer, HoYoverse and Ufotable, a Japanese animation studio popular for series like Demon Slayer and Fate.

A post on the Genshin Impact leaks subreddit has revealed plot details for the upcoming anime. 

The show’s timeline will be based on the world of Teyvat before the arrival of Aether and Lumine, the game’s main characters. The anime will primarily focus on the legendary Archon War, an era filled with various power struggles between ancient gods. 

Each season will revolve around a major region of the game. Three out of 12 episodes will feature the popular Mondstadt region. The post did not mention the number of episodes to be released per season or how long an episode will be. However, HoYoverse did mention the anime will be a long term project. 

The anime, which has been in development for 18 months, will showcase some incredible animations and visual effects. Although it has not been specified, several fans are hoping the series will stick to Genshin Impact’s official manga. 

There’s also a lot of support for the anime to focus on the seven continents in the Genshin Impact world. Every major region has its own representative element and an Archon, its primary protector. 

Fans have been asking for an anime adaptation for a long time. There are a lot of expectations riding on HoYoverse since the fantasy game has become a favorite of millions worldwide ever since it was launched in 2020. 

Genshin Impact is available for mobile, PC, PS4, and PS5.
