Developer miHoYo is all set to hit the market with yet another update for Genshin Impact. This time with Version 2.2, the devs intend to add a broad spectrum of fresh content to this highly successful RPG.
Called “Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog,” Genshin Impact’s version 2.2 will go live on October 13.
The update will introduce a new playable character Thoma, a new Tsurumi Island – the last of the six major islands of Inazuma, and a wide-ranging array of events, challenges, and mini-games.
On top of such exciting content, v2.2 will make Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn free to access for all those who haven’t claimed her yet!
Once you have downloaded update 2.2, you will witness the Tsurumu Island blanketed by a thick sheet of fog. As per miHoYo, enthusiasts will “encounter unprecedented challenges while exploring this area.”
Concealed in the translucency of the fog lurks dangers like Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps, who are waiting to tear you apart. The moment they ambush you, your character will be affected by Corrosion and lose HP whether you’re shielded or not.
Version 2.2 will also see the addition of a new four-star character called Thoma. First seen in the Inazuma storyline, this famous “fixer” wields a polearm and Pyro Vision as his arms of choice. Not only is Thoma useful in combat but also solid defensively.
Players can recruit Thoma in the second Event Wish that stars them and Hu Tao. Moreover, v2.2 will make Hangout Events for Thoma and Sayu available too.
To ensure there is no shortage of content, Genshin Impact will also introduce new seasonal events through v2.2:
- Labyrinth Warriors – A thrilling journey in Inazuma with “Childe” Tartaglia, Eleventh of the Fatui Harbingers & Xinyan, Liyue’s rock ‘n’ roll musician.
- Tuned to the World’s Sounds – A rhythm game incorporating Ningguang, Zhongli, Keqing, Xiao, Sangonomiya Kokomi, Kamisato Ayaka, and the Raiden Shogun.
Like any other update, v2.2 comes with its own set of tweaks and optimizations too. Genshin Impact on PC will finally obtain DualSense Controller support, something that was long due.
Serenitea Pot will receive some love this time as well. New features include “Silken Courtyard” – a new Inazuma-inspired realm layout, a great variety of Inazuma-based furnishing blueprints, a new furnishing type, Floating Platform, and flowers that can be used as furnishings from the brief “Dreams of Bloom” event.
