It’s been revealed that anyone who grabs a copy of Cyberpunk 2077 from Steam, whether on Pre-order or after release, will get an exclusive short story called ‘2AM — She Calls’.
The anticipation for Cyberpunk 2077 is rising by the minute, with the game’s release date ever so near. Considering the positive reception that the recent information dump by CD Projekt RED had, it’s safe to say that MANY are looking forward to playing the game.
Honestly speaking, it’s wholly justified how a lot of people are still as excited for the game as they were a couple of months back when it received its first delay, and even though some were less than happy when the release date was pushed to December 10, the never-ending excitement was still there.
That said, anything extra that comes from CD Projekt is undoubtedly going to be welcomed by fans, which brings us back to the short story now being given away along with Cyberpunk 2077’s Steam version.
This short story will most likely not be an in-game reward, and it will be available in pdf format in your game’s folder. Anyhow, it’s a story written by the lead story writer Tomasz Marchewka, so it’s certainly something you should be on the lookout for if you’re looking to dive deeper into the lore of Cyberpunk 2077.
As it was explained on Twitter, the short story “will show you the hostile streets of Night City as seen by Frank, an ex-NCPD officer working the night shift as a Combat Cab driver.”
Anyhow, seeing as how Steam players will be receiving other exclusive items “including avatars, posters, and a wallpaper” as well, PC players are probably going to purchase the game from the Steam Store only.
However, it goes without saying that purchasing Cyberpunk 2077 from GOG will also net you some great items, such as a 50-page digital comic titled ‘Cyberpunk 2077: Big City Dreams’ about the Scavengers of Night City.
This one’s written by CDPR’s narrative manager Bartosz Sztybor and drawn by Filipe Andrade and Alessio Fioriniello, so if the short story isn’t your thing, don’t forget to check this out.
Also, it should be noted that this digital comic will be different from the ones being made through CDPR’s partnership with Dark Horse, called ‘Trauma Team’ and ‘Where’s Johnny?’
Regardless, after we’re done exploring Night City in its entirety once the game launches on December 10, these two will undoubtedly be great for taking a deeper dive into the lore of Cyberpunk 2077.
