Even a good three months after release, Vaheim continues to be the modding community’s golden child. Almost every other day, modders produce fascinating custom builds that bring interesting changes to the game.
Now, one of the key aspects of Valheim is exploration but the latest mod that’s caught everyone’s attention is the one that takes exploration in the game to the next level: the mod allows players to add all of World of Warcraft 9.0’s landmass into the game.
Valheim, being an open-world title itself, is known to be inspired from the likes of Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda. So, it was only a matter of time until modders got inspired and took it upon themselves to bring the entire world of another open-world RPG into the game.
The mod starts players off at Timeless Isle and as per the mod’s description, it has portal hubs to every other World of Warcraft starting hub with every zone using its own progression path. But it’s important to note here that the mod, titled “Valheim of Warcraft”, does not bring the entirety of World of Warcraft to Valheim; the additions don’t include cosmic worlds like Outland and Shadowlands.
Additionally, one major difference between this build and the original World of Warcraft map is that Azeroth’s landmasses have been reduced by 20 percent to make it all fit and to make exploration easier. In the mod’s patch notes, mod creator Kromek thanked fellow modders billw2011 and Jaxrud and also added that they plan to bring cosmic maps like Outland, Draenor, Argus, and Shadowlands to Valheim.
The fantastic additions brought forth by Valheim’s mods have truly been something to behold. From enhancing the difficulty levels of the game to bringing six new character classes, it’s been amazing to see the game’s boundaries pushed further and further.
