Mass Effect: LE to Let Fans Create Better Looking Shephard

With an immersive plot, congenial gameplay, and breathtaking visuals, Mass Effect has always had it all. Year after year, this Bioware’s RPG has created benchmarks for the entire gaming industry. Unfortunately, one aspect that has always been underwhelming is the game’s character creation.

The art of creating a character is nothing new to Bioware. From Knights of the Old Republic to Dragon Age: Inquisition, all these games incorporated character creation.

But even with this rich experience, designing a well-crafted character in Mass Effect has never been a satisfactory experience.

The first Mass Effect was an absolute nightmare in terms of character creation! Things will never go the way as you have imagined them—issues with eyes, neck, hair, or even makeup used to pop up.

With Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, things are way different. Being a remastered version of the three original Mass Effect games, Legendary Edition offers tweaked textures, makeup, and hairstyles to enthusiasts. Therefore, players can create good-looking characters as per their own inclinations.

Fans have waited for this feature to be improved for such a long time. Now that it’s here, ecstatic fans took to Reddit to share their joy and, most importantly, shephard designs.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition also lets players design the “canon” John Shepard, a custom model. Previously, the features of a custom model couldn’t be modified.

Thankfully now, gone are the days when we couldn’t customize custom male sheps. Mass Effect Legendary Edition will now let you alter the features of custom models too, without relying on a hundred mods!

It must be noted that the current character creation mode is still far from perfect. Afro-textured hair still requires some work. But given the cards players were previously dealt with, it is still a massive improvement.

Moreover, one can expect Bioware to fix Legendary Edition’s character creation even further through future updates. The game has received a heavy day one patch already, so it would be unfair to rule out the chances of any future update.

If this issue skips the notice of Bioware, one can always rely on the ever-working modding community that has always got our backs. We recently got an FOV fix for the game; one can expect modders to cover character creation too!
