God Of War Insider Says No Delays for Ragnarok Beyond 2022

This year is shaping up to be a massive year for gaming. Horizon Forbidden West was released just a few days ago, Elden Ring is poised to release this week, and we’ll be getting a bunch of other big games such as Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League and Star Wars: Jedi Fallen Order 2 later in the year. However, while the upcoming games have been teased with a 2022 launch window, that is still very much up in the air. Delays have hit the gaming industry hard due to the pandemic.

Another major title that is still to receive a confirmed release date is God Of War Ragnarok. The sequel to 2018’s reboot was announced last year, but all we got was a vague 2022 release window, and we haven’t heard much about the title since. So, it is understandable that fans are worried if it will be pushed to 2023.

We now have insider information that may put some of these worries to rest. Fans questioned whether Ragnarok might see a 2023 release on Reddit, and Bloomberg’s Jason Schrier chimed in with just “nope” as a response. It’s in no way an official confirmation of a release, but it’s the next best thing.

Horizon Forbidden West is currently in the limelight as the PlayStation exclusive of the season. However, once the hype for the game dies down, Sony can shift its focus on building up Ragnarok. Given that Sony had a solid exclusive for the start of the year, it would make sense that Ragnarok would release sometime around the holiday season. It might even fit the theme, given that Kratos and Atreus will be facing a particularly harsh and long winter.

While the end of the year still seems like a long time to wait, we have some great titles releasing between then and now. They may not be PlayStation exclusives, but they will nonetheless give you something to sink time into as you wait for the coming of Ragnarok.
